Derrek Holdrup: UPDATED 3/2008

Now he has his free bus pass, tried to find a bus to Mali so he could let somebody else drive all the way. Unfortunately, no buses available so back to Plan B. Despite trying  to bribe his wife with the promise of a proper holiday later  she refused to drive 4500 miles with him and who can blame her as Derek invented Road Rage! Mechanical knowledge consists of knowing where the oil and fuel go and how to pump up tyres.

Rowan Jackson:

Brother in law for what seems like forever, father of 2 and grandfather of 4. The original Grumpy Old Man. Well used to long distance driving having at one stage driven back from Iran via India, mind you he was a lot younger then. The mechanic of the group who's rebuilding a 1915 Model T Ford at the moment, mind you he's been doing this for as long as he can remember. Speaks Arabic - badly, but more than Derek! Avid Rolling Stones fan so has plenty of music to take on trip
